January Update

Dear Members & Friends

Happy New Year and welcome to the first edition of our update for 2023

Here is the latest edition of what’s happening around Theatre 3triple2.

12 x12’s Play Festival December 11th & 12th 2022.

What a success!  Over 240 people attended the 2 performances of this year’s festival. Great audiences help us create great shows. We received plenty of positive feedback from our audience which is very encouraging for us. We had a cast of 44 people bring the stories to life. A few of these were performing on stage for the very first time with others being seasoned pro’s. We had a tremendous backstage crew led by stage manager Kerrie and technician Auryn who bought the lights and sounds to life. For the first time we had a musical play as part of our production and the audience loved it!

So many people to thank for their contribution and effort in producing one of our best shows ever.  The performers, directors, coordinators, backstage, Potato Shed staff & volunteers, our guest Judge Anna Healy and of course the writers all deserve huge applause for their efforts.

And now on to the Winners

  • Judges Choice for best written work – Love in the Buy Sell & Loan written by Rob Jennings Directed by Alysha Kitchingman

  • Judges Choice for best short production- The Last Birthday written by Jill Lever Directed by Sindi Renea

  • Audience Choice award – The Set Up written and directed by Kim Rochow

Congratulations to all

Our next show “The Three Little Pigs” will be staged in January. The cast has been selected and will be busy getting ready to present a great fun entertaining show for the kids. Bring your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, siblings or anybody along to join in the fun

Seven Seas Scripted Play Read

Theatre 3triple2 will be presenting a scripted play read for Ian Campbell’s production of The Seven Seas. This will take place at the Potato Shed on Friday 27th January.  This is a story of one woman and her solo sailing circumnavigation of the globe and the impact on her life. We presented a short snapshot of this during last year’s 12 x12’s and Ian has done a considerable amount of work in developing this play. More information is available through the potato Shed website.

Winter Solstice June 2023

Submissions for the Winter Solstice for 2023 have been extended until January 15th 2023. If you have a play of about 45 minutes you would like us to consider, please submit it to the secretary. We will be selecting the 2 plays soon so get your submissions in.

Member Night, Play Reading & Script Development Nights
